The Vanson Curse
“They say the Vanson family is gonna die out for want of decent women willing to stand up to the family curse.” So runs a line in this novel. The story is pure fiction but, to the best of my knowledge, the Vanson family is now extinct in Cornwall.
My grandmother, born Myrtle Vanson, was descended from a family line mostly engaged in agriculture in Tywardreath, on the south coast of Cornwall. I believe she was the last of the family line, which is why I became intrigued about the Vansons.
